About

Valerie Ann Sealey (aka Valerie Solstix) is a highly skilled circus and fire performer, focusing on object manipulation, such as staff manipulation, fire spinning, and contact juggling.

Born in California, she moved to Berlin, Germany, when she became a professional artist in 2005. As one of the first women to ever juggle three burning staffs in 2006, she has continued to push contemporary staff technique for the past twenty years.

From 2005 to 2019, Valerie Sealey and Josh Dyffort worked together as Solstix. As duo, they combined their skills to aim for an innovative masterpiece of artistic perfection. After having taken numerous courses and workshops in modern and classical dance, pantomime and partner acrobatics in Berlin, Valerie and Josh went to the “Beijing International Art School” in China. There she studied traditional Chinese feicha (contact staff), antipodism (foot juggling), shooting star (also known as meteor) and contortion.

Apart from Duo Solstix, Valerie has had the pleasure to work with the Phoenix Fire Dancers in Austria, as well as Artistokraten and Flugträumer in Germany on countless occasions.
Since 2019, Valerie became the new head of Shape-Productions, providing well-thought-out event and show concepts, featuring one-of-a-kind artists.
During the pandemic she was involved in the association KünstlerHilfeJetzt.

In 2020, Valerie also started creating a solo show with recycled Christmas trees, an homage to her late mother, which is currently a work in progress.
She is based in Berlin, Germany, and performs internationally.
